CRT2229 Managing behaviour beyond the classroom
A teacher's responsibility extends beyond the classroom to include yard duty, bus duty, library supervision, excursions, sporting events and so many diverse environments. All CRTs know that it is common practice to be allocated yard duty on their first day in a school. These beyond the classroom settings carry legal responsibilities of which you must be aware as a teacher. This session will not focus on the legalities of your role, but on the key preventative strategies that you need to put in place to ensure that all students (and you as the teacher) are safe in these environments. There will also be ideas about the proactive approaches you can implement to build connection with students and build your knowledge of students' interests, which will support your classroom teaching.
