CRT2243 Understanding the Australian Professional Teaching S

The AITSL Standards have become a framework by which teachers can measure the development in their career, and assess their own practice. AITSL describe the standards as defining 'the work of teachers and make(ing) explicit the elements of high-quality, effective teaching in 21st century schools that will improve educational outcomes for students'. There are standards for four career stages, Graduate, Proficient, Highly Accomplished and Lead. At present only the first two have significant implications in Victoria, however, it is helpful to understand the breadth of the standards and to increase your understanding of how the standards can assist you in developing your practice. (The focus of the course is not about moving from a provisional to fully registered teacher).
