CRTM2251 Building lessons through inquiry based questions
Teach Meets are opportunities for teachers to collaborate and share their practice and resources with colleagues. At their best they promote high quality teaching practice, reduce workload for all teachers and support teachers to be innovative in their teaching. The emphasis in this session is on inquiry based approaches to teaching. Inquiry based approaches require planning and flexibility, as well as a teacher knowing the students well enough to anticipate their interests and limits. This can be complex for CRTs on short term placements, but we know that many CRTs have well developed approaches to questioning and ideas for prompting student led inquiries (that may extend beyond the classroom or the lesson). This is an opportunity to share those questions and techniques for extending students' natural curiosity.
